  • Beardslee Hosts Pop Up Farmers Market

In partnership with the City of Hope through a grant procured from the National Institute of Health, Beardslee Academy hosted their first-ever Pop Up Farmers Market on Monday, January 28. Fresh organic fruits and vegetables were on sale at fair prices in a convenient location for families to purchase for their homes. Beardslee Academy parents were surveyed to identify the types of produce that are regularly used in their home cooking and these were the items sold. City of Hope provided the produce from local farmers to sell at the market and all proceeds will go to sustaining the market over time. The items available included bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, cucumber, oranges, yellow onion, zucchini, tomatoes, grapefruit, and mandarins. The first market day was a huge success and all items were sold out in less than 30 minutes!

  • Beardslee Academy Named Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll School

Beardslee Dual Language Academy has been named to the 2017 - 2018 Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll for their high achievement and student success. The program, sponsored by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE), is part of a national effort to identify higher-performing schools and districts that are improving student outcomes. Beardslee Academy is among only 1,798 public schools in California to be recognized for this honor. ERP maintains the nation’s largest database on student achievement and utilizes this data to identify higher-performing schools and districts. Schools that receive the ERP Honor Roll distinction have demonstrated consistent high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time, and a reduction in achievement gaps among student populations.
