Principal for a Day 2014
Members of the Duarte Chamber of Commerce Report to the Offices of Duarte Unified Principals
Local business and civic leaders participated in the annual Duarte Chamber of Commerce and Duarte Unified School District (DUSD) “Principal for a Day” program. Sponsored by the Duarte Chamber of Commerce, the program matches the talent and expertise of local community members with a school principal. Participants spent a morning on campus shadowing a DUSD school principal, giving them a rare and valuable perspective of what’s involved in running a public school.
This annual event has resulted in the establishment of bonds with the community participants and their host campus who have become strong supporters and vital members of the school's community. After reporting to the principal’s office, the 2014 "Principal for a Day" graduates gathered to meet other principals and district leaders at the Duarte Unified Professional Learning Center to share their experiences.
