  • The S.T.E.A.M. Summer Experience at Duarte Unified School District offers Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics enrichment and academic classes in partnership with Opportunities for Learning (OFL) for students entering Kindergarten-12th grade.  
    July 2- July 30, 2018
    *Note, there will not be school on July 4, 2018.
    8:00 a.m.- Noon for incoming KG-8th grade students (Monday-Friday)
    7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. for incoming 9-12th grade students (Monday-Friday)

    The STEAM Summer Experience is FREE for all students.

    Enrollment Requirements
    All students must be at least five years old by October 1, 2018, and entering Kindergarten in the Fall to be eligible to participate. Non-DUSD students must provide proof of immunizations.

    Will childcare be available following the summer school program dismissal times each day?
    Aftercare will be provided by our partner Think Together Monday-Friday from Noon-6:00 p.m. An information and enrollment meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 9, at both Beardslee and Valley View at 3:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. See flyer for more information here. *Note, childcare is also available for a fee during the month of June.     Do I need to purchase school supplies or provide materials for my child? 
    No, all basic supplies and materials will be provided. Instructors may request items for special projects on a voluntary basis.

    Is there a limit on the number of students who can attend each class? 
    All classes offered are contingent upon student enrollment. Administration will closely monitor student enrollment figures and make adjustments as needed. Every effort will be made to accommodate all students who registered to attend during the scheduled enrollment period. 

    Is lunch provided? 
    Yes, lunch is provided for free daily.

    Is transportation provided? 
    Transportation is not provided for regular education students. Transportation is only available for special education students participating in Extended School Year (ESY). 

    Is the Summer School Program open to students attending outside of the Duarte Unified School District? 
    Yes, students from other districts can participate in the Duarte Unified S.T.E.A.M. Summer Experience. 

    Do Duarte Unified students have enrollment priority? 
    Yes, Duarte Unified students have priority enrollment and will be registered before students who do not attend the Duarte Unified School District.
