Welcome! My name is Mrs. Salcido. I am the 4th-6th grade Special Day class teacher at Maxwell Academy. I have been teaching for seven years, but this is my forth year teaching SDC. I have a Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Education from Whittier College and I really enjoy my profession. I am excited to be at Maxwell Academy, an International Baccalaureate World School and watch some amazing learning take place.
At Maxwell we learn through inquiry lessons and activities. This means we complete a lot of hands on approaches to leaning. My students are excited to learn about our units of inquiry and make connections to different things they learned in each unit.
As an International Baccalaureate School, students learn how to connect what they have learned across curriculum. They can make connections in math, reading, writing and science. This allows them to go deeper with their thought process, think critically and think outside the box. Here at Maxwell, our motto is "We Succeed to the Max +1."
* Upcoming events: 6th grade Pali Science Camp March 21-23
