    This is an art class that would fulfill your art requirements for the high school. Also, the graphic design class, web design class are UC Approved and PCC college credited class. 
    Students who completed each of these classes with a B or higher will receive 5 Pasadena college credits.

    Course Description
    Graphic Design
    This class is designed for students who have an interest in Graphic Design, commercial art or related fields and careers. Students will learn traditional visual art fundamentals, design principles and concepts with computer assisted methods using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign software to create original designs. Topics include Design principles and practices, overview of Technical Terms in Typography with focus on type rules and applications in real world publications, creating images for print and web, image editing, page design and layout rules and basics, 2D/3D design, animation with Photoshop, Logo design principles and design process, brand identity design in commercial world, as well as current method and styles that are currently available and adapted by graphic artists. Students will build their graphic portfolio with work samples that aligned with the current industry standards. This class is the prerequisite class for the advanced graphic production class.
    Web Design
    This class is designed for the student interested in entry level positions in web design and development, front-end web and mobile application design, interaction design in web-based animation. The program focuses on visual design in digital web structure as well as the professional and production methods used in the current industry. Projects will enhance and develop students in content management analysis, user interface, interactive behaviors, information design, JavaScript and ActionScript programming, web and mobile application tools, and selection of appropriate form factors for user experiences in the Internet. Students completing this program will develop a digital portfolio as well as participate in an advanced community-based team project. This course requires literacy and proficiency in writing and math. Projects in forms of written, oral, and visual presentations as well as the application of basic math principles and skills when used on programming projects.
    Advanced Graphic/ Yearbook
    This class is designed for students who have an interest in a degree in commercial art or specialized in page layout applications and career for print and digital world. Students will advance and build upon on the graphic design concepts from the first year, to advanced 3D modeling with both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator programs, page composition principles and techniques with Adobe InDesign, focusing on computer generated original artwork design. That includes student-designed fonts, community-based print and digital projects, such as designing and producing school and district related graphic and media needs, designing and producing the high school yearbook, district events posters, the annual commencement ceremony cover design, and student body related publications in formats such as flyers, newsletters, booklets, banners and athletic programs. Students will enhance their graphic skills with the updated version of Adobe CC and Photoshop Lightroom for photo editing techniques in the real world publications. An in-depth community-related work samples will be used on the student Portfolio in a digital output.
