Duarte Middle Grades Sports

Eligibility: Duarte Unified students in Grades 6-8 who maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher in all classes are eligible to participate on a sports team. All participants will register by school (Andres Duarte, Beardslee, Maxwell, Royal Oaks and Valley View). All students representing Duarte Middle Grades Sports are students first and athletes second.
Tryouts: Students must tryout to make the team. All tryouts are conducted fairly and are subjective. Team selection is the discretion of the coach. Student athletes will be evaluated by the coaching staff with the use of a scoring rubric based on knowledge of the game, fundamentals/skills of the game, endurance/physical ability, team work, attitude and effort.
Sports by Season: Descriptions and information about each sport offered, practice schedule and location, and registration start date are provided by season.
Fall Sports: Flag Football (Co-Ed) and Girls Volleyball
Winter Sports: Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Girls Soccer and Boys Soccer
Spring Sports: Girls Softball and Boys Volleyball
