Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Deanna Stumbaugh M.Ed.

Raised in Duarte, I attended Beardslee Elementary, Northview Middle School, and graduated from Duarte High School in 1975.  I then continued my education at Citrus College where I received an AA Degree in Music Education.  In 1982, I graduated from California State Polytechnic University Pomona earning a BS Degree in Administration.  After working 9 years in non-profit youth organizations, I served our country proudly with just under 10 years of service in the United States Navy.  In the year 1999, I returned to Duarte, purchased a home, and began my teaching career.  Drawing upon my life’s experiences, it is through teaching I hope to make a difference within the community I grew up thus giving back.

In addition, in June of 2005, I received a Master of Arts in Education – Special Education Emphasis and currently hold a Clear Teaching Credential - Special Education (Mild to Moderate Learning Disabilities).  I also hold an Autism Certificate as of 2012.

As I begin my 24th year as your 4th /5th Grade Special Day Class Teacher, I will do my best to teach and inspire your children to become all that they can become.  I truly recognize the importance each student plays and will do my best to build a strong, educated body of learners, one student at a time. It is my firm belief that with high expectations, rigorous curriculum, and appropriate accommodations, “All Things Are Possible”.
