There are advisory committees, councils or task forces at the district or site level that serve specific purposes and goals. Most are specific to task completion. Most involve members from a variety of stakeholder groups and may be appointed or elected. They are not required by statute.The purpose of the Duarte Unified Community Education Council (CEC) is to facilitate community input in a cooperative environment to study issues and guide policies that will improve the educational opportunities and achievement of all students. The Community Education Council is assembled each school year and meets quarterly on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Educational Services Curriculum Lab at the district office.

May 15, 2018The purpose of the SATFC is to study a specific issue and report findings and recommendations directly to the Superintendent. Depending on the task, this group may meet once or multiple times. Membership may be comprised of any combination of staff members, parents, students, and members of other stakeholder groups who bring expertise and/or add value to the task (There are currently no 2017-18 SATFC meetings).These are all formal organizations composed of parents, teachers and staff that is intended to facilitate parental participation in a school. Check your school for details about which organization is offered.
