Beardslee is proud to have been the pilot site for the district's elementary instrumental music program. Thanks in large part to the Duarte Education Foundation's "Music Matters" Campaign, all 6th grade students attending our school now have the option to learn how to play a band instrument, and just this year, the VH1 Save the Music Foundation has selected Beardslee as a partner. This esteemed organization has granted our school $30,000 worth of brand new instruments so that we may now launch a 5th grade band program. In addition, all Beardslee students participate in weekly choral music classes to expand their vocal skills and to explore rhythm and movement. Research proves music education is more than just introducing students to beats, notes and songs. Here at Beardslee, we believe music can completely transform a child`s mind and open up endless possibilities to their learning potential.
