Hello everyone!

My name is Rene Mata and I am the Teaching and Learning Coach (TLC).  I have been an educator for 20 years and have been a Beardslee Bear since the beginning of my career.  I started at Beardslee teaching Kindergarten and have also taught first and second grade.  In my current position, I have the unique opportunity to serve all students at Beardslee. I am blessed to call each of the students from Pre-K to 8th "my kids".  Some of my duties as TLC are in the area of assessment i.e. ELPAC, SBAC, District assessments, etc and curriculum.  Another duty is to monitor the progress of our English Learners. I am also the PBIS Coach along with Mrs. O'Donnell.  We work together with the PBIS team to continue our implementation of teaching students what is expected in the area behavior at Beardslee. I am also the Foster/Homeless Liaison. 

I have the honor to work with all Beardslee teachers in helping students to be successful academically, while working alongside Mrs. Romero in making Beardslee the best school it can be.
