Eagle's Café

We would like to introduce the "Eagle's Café" and SOAR Store; it is nestled in the middle school campus, only for 6th-8th grade students. We offer a variety of boardgames and hundreds of books to enjoy during lunch time. Thank you for the support from our Royal Oaks families who made this possible. Special thanks to the Haydel, Lopez-Driotis, Mier, and Robeck families for their generous donations.

Staff Highlight - Mrs. Marcela Camacho

Mrs. Camacho is our school librarian, digital media specialist, and guru behind all the social media posts, beautiful awards, and flyers. Mrs. Camacho has been a loyal Duarte resident for 30 years, and attended Royal Oaks and Northview. After high school, she went into the Army Reserve for eight years, and had an amazing opportunity to travel and train at the same time. Her experience in the army helped find her strengths and direction in life. Even after getting married and having four children, she continues to invest in her personal growth by going back to school, learning new skills, and taking on new challenges, such as boxing! Mrs. Camacho is a hard-working, dedicated, and talented Royal Oaks staff member. Moreover, she is a kind and gentle person whose calm and gentle demeanor is always calming and welcoming for staff and students alike. If you ever want to surprise her with a special treat, she enjoys chocolate!

Royal Oaks participates in a hybrid Science Olympiad competition!

The students in Mr. Hata's Science Olympiad class participated in a hybrid/in-person competition on Saturday, February 26th. It was an all-day event starting from 8:00 AM with students in various groups, taking tests via a virtual platform, to performing different projects. Some of these projects included building and flying an airplane, mousetrap vehicle, and a launching system. We are proud of hard work and culminating efforts! Go Eagles!

Royal Oaks Awarded the Silver Medal for PBIS Implementation

We are pleased to announce that the California PBIS Coalition has recognized Royal Oaks STEAM Academy for successful PBIS implementation at the SILVER level. Our school is a recipient within the California PBIS Coalition’s System of Recognition, reflecting excellence in the measurement of fidelity as well as our efforts in implementing the core features of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. We sincerely appreciate the hard work done by our PBIS Team and entire learning community to achieve this level of recognition. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to implement PBIS with the fidelity needed to create the conditions to maximize the academic and social behavioral outcomes for ALL of our students. Congratulations Eagles and let's continue to SOAR to even higher levels this year!
