MIT at Citrus College- Career Technical Exploration (CTE)

On March 3, 2023, MIT students were given the opportunity to visit Citrus College and participate in several career pathway workshops. Students explored the career pathway of cosmetology, emerging theatre technologies, Medium/Heavy-Duty Truck Technology, Real Estate, and Information Technology and Information Systems.  The career technical education (CTE) courses are a great way for students to continue their studies in fields they are interested in. The CTE program at Citrus college allows students to advance their studies, and “gain industry-recognized knowledge, skills, abilities, and culminates in the earning of certificate(s) of achievement, degree, transfer and/or employment depending on the educational goal.” Participating in a career technical education program helps students by providing a smooth transition from course to course, educational level, or educational institution by reducing class repetition, and saving money and time.   For more information on Citrus Colleges’ Career Technical Education program please visit their website: https://www.citruscollege.edu/academics/pathways/Pages/default.aspx and for a list of career pathways provided by Citrus college please visit: https://www.citruscollege.edu/academics/cte/Pages/default.aspx

  • Creating Creators at M.I.T. High School

M.I.T. High School provides an alternative setting for students whose needs are better met in a more flexible, personalized, and self-paced program. Our 180 Accelerated Degree program affords students a diploma and industry certifications upon graduation in several emerging Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathways. A fifth-year senior graduation program is also available that is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Our partnership with Creating Creators has brought The Cinema Project to M.I.T. Our students learn the craft of film production from industry professionals including actor Goya Robles, and they conduct press interviews at red carpet events like the South East European Film Festival. These opportunities are leading to jobs and internships with prominent Hollywood studios. “Innovation is the name of the game here, and having the support of partners offering real industry experience is a real game-changer for our students’ futures,” shared Principal Morris.
