Highlighting Student Leadership With Our Student Board Members, Sofia Amaya and Audrye Ramirez

Sofia and Audrye

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader,” in the words of John Quincy Adams. Our Duarte USD student leaders are a true inspiration, representing their schools and community as leaders both inside and outside of the classroom.

Student leaders Sofia Amaya of Duarte High School and Audrye Ramirez of Mt. Olive Innovation and Technology High School both exemplify excellence through student leadership.

Duarte High School senior Sofia Amaya is proud to represent the community she grew up in since kindergarten as Duarte ASB Leadership president and serving as a student board member with the DUSD Board of Education. When it comes to her plans for the future, Sofia plans to attend a four-year university, pursuing her interests in either biomedical research or communication. She anticipates finishing her last year of high school strong by maintaining an active status throughout the community and taking rigorous courses offered at the school.

Mount Olive High School senior Audrye Ramirez executes leadership as president of the ambassadors club at her school and while serving as a student board member with the DUSD Board of Education. When she is not being active playing softball or karate, Audrye Ramirez is an asset to the office, helping with a variety of tasks. As for the future, Audrye plans to use her creative skills in the film industry one day.
