Summer Welding Technology Program Starts July 2, Register Today!

Duarte Unified's collaboration with Mt. San Antonio College and several business and community partners including Delafield Corporation, SoCal Gas and the Duarte Chamber of Commerce has resulted in a career training bootcamp designed to give students in Grades 9-12 the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain employment in a variety of industries related to Welding and Fabrication that include construction, aerospace, lighting, and automotive aftermarket industries.

Positions in the field of welding and fabrication are in high demand, especially those requiring expert certifications. As part of this program, we are proud to partner with Delafield Corporation to provide students with authentic insight and experience in the work place. Delafield is a full line distributor for several manufacturers. They specialize in the engineering, manufacturing, and sales of products that utilize piping, pumps, hoses, manifolds, valves, and tubing to move both fluids and gases for elite clients including NASA.

The summer program incorporates safety and proper set-up and operation of welding processes and equipment along with hands-on laboratory exercises. Classes are held on the Duarte High School campus taught by a Mt. San Antonio Instructor.

The six week tuition-free summer boot camp runs from July 2-July 30, 2019. In this class, students will learn about the theory and practical training for entry into welding jobs. There will be an introduction to the history of welding, terminology, basic welding techniques, measurement, and safety.

Classes will be held at Duarte High School
