In just a few days, our schools will once again be filled with laughter, curiosity, new friendships, meaningful learning, and the excitement that only the first day of school can bring.
On behalf of the Duarte Unified School District Board of Education and our entire staff, I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2026–27 school year! We look forward to opening our doors and welcoming students back on Thursday, August 13.
While our campuses may have been quieter over the summer, they have certainly not been idle. Hundreds of Duarte Unified employees have been hard at work preparing for the first day of school by refreshing classrooms, enhancing campuses, planning engaging lessons, updating technology, preparing nutritious meals, and ensuring every school is ready to welcome students with care and enthusiasm.
This year, we remain focused on what matters most: our students. Every decision we make is guided by our commitment to helping every child learn, grow, and thrive. Together, we will continue to provide engaging, high-quality instruction, expand opportunities that prepare students for college, careers, and life, support every student's well-being, and strengthen the partnerships with families that make student success possible.
Whether your child is just beginning their journey with us or preparing for graduation, we are honored to be part of it. We believe every student deserves to be known, valued, challenged, and inspired, and we are committed to providing the opportunities and support that help every student thrive.
Families are our partners in this important work. We encourage you to stay connected with your child's school, celebrate accomplishments, ask questions, and engage throughout the year. Together, we can ensure every student feels welcomed, challenged, supported, and inspired every day.
