Child Development Relocation
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Child Development Program Relocation
Why is the Child Development program moving?
Due to the planned Crestfield Development at the Andres Duarte site, all programs currently located there are required to vacate the property in Summer 2026. This requires the District to relocate the Child Development program while ensuring continuity of services for children and families.
Where will the Child Development program be located long term?
The District is planning for the Child Development program to open at the Beardslee site in Fall 2027. Construction at Beardslee has already begun and will create a modern, high-quality early learning environment designed to support young children and families.
What happens during the interim period before Beardslee opens?
During the interim period:
- Child Development classes will continue and be expanded at Maxwell Academy
- New Child Development classes will open at Valley View Academy
These locations will allow the District to continue serving families without interruption while the Beardslee construction is underway.
Will Child Development services continue without interruption?
Yes. The District is committed to ensuring continuity of services for enrolled families and to expanding access to early learning during the interim period.
What ages does the Child Development program serve?
Children may enter the Child Development program as early as two years old, depending on program availability and eligibility. The program serves two, three and four-year-olds.
What program options are available?
The Child Development program offers a variety of options to meet family needs, including:
- Part-day classes
- Full-day/Full-year classes
- Select fee-based options, depending on family eligibility and program availability
Additional details about specific program offerings will be shared as enrollment windows open.
Will program quality and staffing remain the same?
Yes. The District is committed to maintaining high-quality early learning experiences, including qualified staff, developmentally appropriate curriculum, and safe, nurturing environments at all program locations.
